After literally years of talking about it, Wilf gets together in a socially distanced, responsible fashion with two old friends of The European Perspective, Jon Hunt and James Hendry, to present an extravaganza of music by one of their favourite composers and musicians, Mike Oldfield. In this first show they look at the first ten years of his remarkable career, with a few rarities mixed in with the major releases. There’ll be a second installment in due course!

  1. Taurus 2 (24:44:00) – Wow, that’s really Prog!

  2. I’m a huge Mike Oldfield fan. Thank you for this great podcast, how far will part 2 go? Please go all the way up to 2017’s Return To Ommadawn, even if you need to do a part 3 lol.

  3. What a brilliant few hours… Amazing music of course and loved hearing the same kind of enthusiasm for Mike’s work from the three of you as I have… Any word on when you will do part 2? It’ll be worth the slog to get to Return to Ommadawn – in my opinion one of his very best!

  4. Fabulous programme for a dedicated Oldfield fan. Listening to Argiers took me back years! Here’s a suggestion for Part 2: an extract from David Bedford’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner from 1975. Thanks for the memories.
