Answers to frequently asked questions about refugee sponsorship, including eligibility, safe third country agreement and various types of sponsorship. As part of a private sponsorship, the affiliation group has direct knowledge of certain refugees or families abroad that have been brought to its attention. Persons who qualify as refugees of the following two classes may receive assistance under the PSR programme: a constituent group (CG) is a group that has been authorised in writing by the SAH to act on its behalf in assisting refugees. An SAH can allow any number of CG to sponsor under its agreement and to assist sponsored refugees. Each SAH defines its own criteria for the recognition of CGs. CGs have the following characteristics: A Holder Sponsorship Agreement (SAH) is a registered organization that has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. With the signing of the sponsorship contract, an SAH is legally responsible, but it is not limited: how does the “mixed” model work? Refugees who have been relocated under the Blended VOR initiative receive financial assistance in the first 6 months after arrival through the federal government`s Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP). They are also fully covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) for a full 12-month period in addition to provincial health insurance. Sponsors are responsible for the remaining 6 months of financial support. SaH and its support group also have a responsibility to manage and emotionally support refugees during the 12 months of sponsorship. All refugee sponsorship applications are available on the IRCC website at www.cic.gc.ca. Many organizations have signed sponsorship agreements with the Government of Canada to help foreign refugees relocate to Canada. These organizations are called the Holders Sponsorship Agreement.

They may sponsor refugees themselves or work with others in the community to sponsor refugees. Canada`s immigration and refugee protection law determines who can apply for protection as a refugee. The person must apply from outside Canada and, in short, not be able to live in their country of origin due to a well-founded fear of persecution, the effects of civil war or armed conflict, or the persistent denial of their fundamental human rights. There are different types of refugee sponsorships that are described below. The SAH is legally responsible for all sponsorships submitted under its agreement. The CMs are the facilitators of the sponsorships themselves. Some SAHs have CGs and others do not. The Sponsorship Agreement allows SAH to sponsor a number of refugees each year for resettlement to Canada through the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program. When an organization signs a sponsorship agreement, it assumes the legal responsibilities listed in the sponsorship agreement.

It has become a model for other countries around the world.. . .
